Cherry Red

Cherry Red

Cherry Red is music that is hip, exciting, sophisticated and sexy. Their performances of jazz standards are anything but “standard.” Cherry Red goes from soaring solo to tight-knit ensemble, from hot to cool, from cookin’ to crawlin’, from shout to torch. The Great American Songbook never sounded so good. The trio/quartet/quintet features:

Dianne Palmer: Ms. Palmer is an in-demand voiceover artist; you have heard her on numerous national and local radio and television commercials. With a B.F.A. in Theatre from Ohio University, she has appeared in films, on network television and in theaters all across the U.S. She has sung with bands from New York to L.A., as well as on cruise ships, and she puts her sultry stamp on many different musical styles, from folk and rock to big band and jazz.

Robert Hoffman: Mr. Hoffman has been playing professionally since the age of 14. He studied classical clarinet with Richard Bassett, solo clarinet with Pershing’s Own Army Band, and saxophone with Lee Hardesty of the Tex Beneke Band. He has played with the likes of Clark Terry, Pete Christlieb, Sammy Nestico, Ernestine Anderson, The Jazz Revival Orchestra and Nightcoach, the Big Band. As a freelance writer of poetry, prose, drama and commercial copy, his work has been seen and heard in northeast Ohio and across the country. Robert holds a B.A. from William and Mary and an M.F.A. from Catholic University.
