Mark Maliniak- Trumpet

Mark Maliniak was appointed Second Trumpet with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra (Ohio) in October 2008 and recently joined CityMusic Cleveland, the city’s premier chamber orchestra, as Principal Trumpet in April 2011.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio Mark attended the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree studying with Cleveland Orchestra Second Trumpeter Jack Sutte. He later attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he received a Master of Music degree as a student of Michael Sachs, Principal Trumpet of The Cleveland Orchestra. During the course of his study there, he was the recipient of the Dr. Calvin E. Weber Award for excellence in trumpet performance.

Mark frequently performs with The Cleveland Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, whom he has recorded with for the Naxos label, Blossom Festival Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, Firelands Symphony Orchestra, and New World Symphony in Miami, Florida. He has previously attended Texas Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, Pacific Music Festival (Japan), and Tanglewood Music Center.
